As we head into autumn there's nothing quite like a warming bowl of creamy porridge first thing in the morning. The oats are packed full of fibre so will keep you full up till lunch, they're also great for your digestion and will help lower cholesterol levels. We've added roasted plums as they're rich in antioxidants, but you could easily substitute for pears or apples. We've sprinkled our Raw Power Mix on top for an added crunch and some healthy fats and protein.

Serves 2

For the porridge:
100g/1 cup of jumbo or steel cut oats
240ml/1 cup of milk/nut milk/soya milk
240ml/1 cup of water
Pinch of cinnamon

For the plums:
2 ripe plums
Squeeze of orange juice
1 tablespoon of ground almonds
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

For the top:
A small handful of The Food Doctor Raw Power Mix

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4.

  2. To prepare the plums; halve them, remove the stones and place on a baking tray. Drizzle over the orange juice and then in a separate bowl mix together the ground almonds, honey and cinnamon. Place this mix on top of each plum and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until the plums are soft but not collpased. If you dont have enough time to make the plums in the morning, you can make them the night before.

  3. Once the plums have been baking in the oven for 20 minutes, begin to make the porridge. Place the oats, milk and water into a saucepan on a medium heat. Bring to a steady simmer for 5-6 minutes, stirring as often as you can to give you a smooth creamy porridge. Add the cinnamon and stir.

  4. Remove the porridge from the heat, divide into two bowls and top with the plums and the Raw Power Mix. Enjoy.
